Raj has the right to say whatever he wants: Big B

New Delhi: The war of words between MNS chief Raj Thackeray and superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to be intensifying with each passing day.

In the latest face-off, a day after MNS workers displayed posters of the superstar targeting him for taking back his land "donation" to farmer in Pune, Bachchan broke his silence on Friday.

He said India is a democracy and everyone is free to speak. “One should abide by the Constitution and the law of the land. This is a democracy. Every person has the right to express themselves. This matter (the land issue) is sub-judice. I cannot comment on it,” he said.

On Thursday, a banner mocking filmstar Bachchan's land donation controversy in Pune was put up, allegedly by MNS activists, at the Dadar junction in central Mumbai.

The political banner was seen is the MNS party's commentary on Bachchan's U-turn on the land donation in Pune's Maval area and his farmer status.

On March 23, Bachchan spoke for the first time on Thackeray's charge that he has done precious little for Mumbai, dismissing the allegations.

Referring to MNS chief’s charges, Bachchan said, "Random charges are random. They do not deserve the kind of attention you wish me to give them. This is a free country and every individual enjoys the liberty of free speech."
